100 years of history

ISTOM, the engineering school, 100 years of history, etc.

From 10 months in 1908 to 5 years now, ISTOM in the course of years:

1908-1955: Ecole pratique coloniale du Havre (EPC)
1955-1968: Ecole Technique d’Outre-Mer du Havre (ETOM)
1968-1990: Institut Supérieur Technique d’Outre-Mer du Havre (ISTOM)
1991-2000: ISTOM in Cergy
2000-now: College of International Agro-Development
2004: First engineer accreditation by CTI (Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur) and adaptation of the syllabus to the LMD

1908 – First school year with 12 students and 4 to sit in on lectures.

1943 – The duration of the studies switches from 1 to 2 years.

1955 – Name changed for Ecole technique d'Outre-Mer (ETOM).

1959 - The duration of the studies is extended from 2 to 3 years.

1968 - Name changed for Institut supérieur technique d'outre-mer (ISTOM).

1974 - ISTOM welcomes its first female student.

1977 – The school welcomes its first French national female student.

1991 – Move from le Havre to Cergy Pontoise. ISTOM becomes a founder member of the Institut polytechique Saint-Louis which gathers 7 different schools.

2004 - Accreditation by CTI of the engineer title within the engineer degree.

2004 – Duration of studies extended from 4 to 5 years.

2007 – The first 68 engineers graduate (93th class known in French as promotion).

2008 - Celebration of the centenary of the school (http://www.100ansistom.ugocom.fr/)
